Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- With regard to information disseminated in the media about the detention of a citizen of Uzbekistan in "labor slavery" case in Kazakhstan, the Consulate General of our country in Aktau reports the following.
According to the information of the Police Department of the Aktobe region, during the planned measures to identify persons illegally staying in Kazakhstan, a citizen of Uzbekistan M.B., born on 05/02/1962, was found. A criminal case was initiated against his employer under Article 128 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan “Trafficking in Human Beings”.
M.B. arrived in Kazakhstan in 1996, he received a residence permit and permanently resides in Kazakhstan in 2004.
During a conversation with representatives of law enforcement agencies M. B. stated that he had no complaints about his current employer, was satisfied with the conditions of work, residence and wages, did not intend to return to Uzbekistan, and planned to move to his daughter, a citizen of Kazakhstan, in Almaty.
In connection with the absence of a criminal offense and confirmation of the facts of "labor slavery", the initiated criminal case was closed.
