Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Informal summit of heads of Turkic-speaking states showed the highest productivity. This point of view was expressed by the Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sanjar Valiyev, opening a webinar on the topic "Prospects for the development of interaction between CCTS countries in new conditions."
As the deputy head of the ISMI emphasized, the past summit of the Turkic Council, despite its informal status, showed the highest productivity in filling with important discussions and making practical decisions enshrined in the final Turkestan declaration. In fact, the heads of state laid down the program guidelines for the activities of CCTS bodies and states in 2021.
According to S. Valiyev, this is especially important because now the Turkic-speaking states face urgent tasks to overcome the pandemic, restore national economies, and resume broad humanitarian ties.
“It is no coincidence that in his speech, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev primarily focused on the development of economic ties, industrial cooperation, implementation of investment projects and increasing transport and transit potential,” the expert stated.
These topics have taken a central place in the speeches of the leaders of other states. A lot of popular proposals were made on cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the introduction of digital and innovative technologies.
The expert focused on the fact that all the issues raised at the meeting of the heads of state are very topical. Their implementation will contribute to the dynamic development of relations between the Turkic-speaking countries in a multilateral format in the period preceding the next summit in November in Turkey.
The results of the online summit also showed that at the level of the leadership of the heads of the Turkic-speaking states, a strong mutual understanding, commonality of approaches and a reciprocal desire for rapprochement at the level of peoples have been established. As a result, ideal conditions have been created for the effective development of cooperation within the CCTS, the expert summed up.
