At the opening ceremony of the event it was noted that industrial fairs and cooperation exchanges being organized in diverse sectors serve as a distinctive mechanism in forming portfolios of procurement orders. They facilitate the expansion of inter-sector cooperation, consolidation of intra-sector production ties, stimulation of manufacturing import-substituting and export-oriented integrated products, UzA reported.
This has been evident in the outcomes of past fairs and exchanges, in the annually growing volumes of concluded agreements and the mounting number of participants that have encompassed enterprises of small and private business. Notably, as many as 31 deals totalling 49.1 billion soums were reached during the 2012 sector-based industrial fair and cooperation exchange of enterprises in public utilities, transport, capital development and construction materials industry.
In the current industrial fair and cooperation exchange, in turn, the list of participants is made up of 115 major enterprises and entities of small business and private entrepreneurship. Among them are Uzbekistan Airways National Air Company, the Uzqurilishmateriallari stock company, Uzmontajspetsstroy association, Uzbekistan Railways State Stock Railroad Company, Uzavtoyul State Stock Company and many others. They present integrated products made of local raw materials, production novelties and projected goods.
Currently, the production of construction materials constitutes one of the major sectors in our country’s economy. The volume of relevant goods production in 2012 was worth more than 796 million US dollars. The principal credit in furthering these accomplishments is assigned to the Uzqurilishmateriallari stock company that amalgamates in excess of 120 enterprises. An imposing stand has been presented at the fair with samples of offered produce: gypsum plasterboards, dry construction blends, ceramic plates, goods made of plastic foam and artificial decorative rock, and so forth.
The association enterprises have been attaching special significance to issues of production localization, of building up the manufacture of import substituting goods owing to the development of cooperation bonds with other sectors of Uzbekistan’s industrial complex.
Participation in this fair gives everyone an opportunity to present their produce, get familiar with technical innovation and production novelties as well as achievements in adjacent sectors and enterprises. It also offers a good chance to identify demand for the nearest future. Thus, the Quartz stock company last year reached a deal with Kungrad Soda Plant to supply water ash. Representatives of the company say they are hopeful to find new partners at the current fair, too.
Multifaceted efforts in the modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of production capacities have been in progress also at divisions of Uzbekistan Railways, at its Foundry-Mechanical Plant subsidiary in particular. The latter specializes in repairs and modernization of rolling stock. In accordance with the Localization Program, the enterprise launched the production of new coaches, iron casting, components and spare parts for the rolling stock and upper structures of roads. The plant supplies its goods to other sectors, as well, notably, spare parts for pumps, fabricated metals, water-shut-off reinforcement rods, fork grippers and loading cranes are provided to the companies and divisions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources.
On its first day, the sector fair hosted presentations by Uzqurilishmateriallari SC, Uzmontajspetsstroy association, Uzkommunkhizmat agency, along with entities of small business and private entrepreneurship.
