Individuals may be allowed to provide taxi services as self-employed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan was instructed to develop a procedure for organizing the transportation of passengers by individuals within a month.

From 1 January 2021, individuals are planned to be allowed to carry out activities for the transportation of passengers in light vehicles with seating for no more than 5 people, including the driver, as self-employed persons. This is provided by the draft presidential decree "On measures to drastically reduce the shadow economy."

At the same time, income received by self-employed persons in the implementation of passenger transportation by light automobile transport through mobile applications - aggregators, along with the payment of social tax, are taxed on income of individuals at the source of payment at a set rate with a decrease in the amount of income received by 50%.
