Individuals growing silkworms at home exempt from income tax

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law amending the country’s Tax Code.

Under the new changes, from 1 January 2023 to 1 January 2026, individuals engaged in the domestic production of live silkworm cocoons (home-based work) will be exempt from income tax.

Additionally, payments made for the labor of home-based workers involved in silkworm cultivation will be exempt from social taxes.

Furthermore, the land tax for plots used for mulberry plantations will be calculated using a coefficient of 0.1 applied to the established tax rates.
