Increasing export potential in Tashkent discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with deputy khokims on investments and exports of the districts of Tashkent city.
The main topic was introduction of a new system of investment and export potential implementation by the Ministry and its adaptation mechanisms to the urban infrastructure, taking into account its specificity: remoteness from primary sources, close proximity of residential premises.
It was noted that urban engineering infrastructure is a complex organism, consisting of water supply and sewage systems, heat supply, transport and roads, electricity, gas and from a consumer point of view, it is important for a city dweller that this whole farm works smoothly, like a well-established clock mechanism.
In this regard, the implementation and deployment of new investment projects, whether it is an industrial enterprise, a hotel complex, an object of health care or tourism, should be carried out only after a careful analysis of the possible impact on the engineering networks and on the social and social life of the population.
Moreover, special emphasis was placed on the need to prevent a negative impact on the city’s ecology already at the stage of preparing a business plan and a feasibility study of projects, bearing in mind the maximum reduction of hazardous emissions into the atmosphere and city sewer networks.
During the conversation with responsible district employees, the specificity of each district was studied: the availability of free areas, vacant buildings and structures, the capacity and technical condition of the engineering infrastructure, the number and profile of existing industrial facilities to build a local strategy to attract investments and increase exports.
According to the minister, the clustering of industry in the urban environment is of particular relevance, since the relatively close location of autonomous and interconnected enterprises reduces the load on the city’s transport network, reduces production and time costs, the district receives relative economic independence, eliminates the effect of circular migration and residents it is not necessary to cross long distances on the way to work and back, that in the conditions of the growing degree of urbanization of Tashkent taken into account in the first place.
Also, counter proposals and comments of district employees were heard, both systemic problems and individual cases of cooperation with investors and entrepreneurs were considered, and optimal solutions were offered to solve existing problems.
