Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In the system of higher and secondary specialized education for 9 months, financial shortcomings of almost 14 billion soums were revealed. The head of the internal audit and financial control department, Salokhiddin Toshmatov, said this at a press conference.

Of this amount, unnecessary expenses were prevented in the amount of 5 billion 493.2 million soums.

During the audit, funds in the amount of 4 billion 979.3 million soums were recovered.

A part in the amount of 996.2 million soums (overpaid wages and other charges) was directed to collection for settlements in the following months.

In addition, in 2 higher educational institutions and 8 professional educational institutions, errors and shortcomings in the amount of 2 billion 136.6 million soums were revealed and sent to law enforcement agencies for a legal assessment and courts.

Disciplinary actions were taken against 33 managers and senior officials who committed financial deficiencies, and 21 were dismissed from their posts.
