Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the first quarter of 2022, customs officers of Uzbekistan seized US$1 million in foreign currency in cash and 503.6 kg of narcotic drugs.
The illegal circulation of jewelry worth 5.2 billion soums, 170,000 boxes of tobacco products and 490 items of cultural property was also suppressed. This was announced by the acting head of the information service of the State Customs Committee Khusan Tangriev.
In the first quarter, customs payments in the amount of 9.5 trillion soums were transferred to the state budget. As a result of measures aimed at reducing the share of the "shadow economy" in foreign trade, additional customs payments in the amount of 221 billion soums were collected.
More than 3,000 entrepreneurs were granted benefits on customs payments in the amount of about 4 trillion soums.
For the first time, 1456 administrative cases were conducted electronically in the E-Qaror system, which reduced the time from 17 days to several minutes.
