Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the end of the current academic year, 9,821 graduates of secondary schools were awarded gold and silver medals.
As you know, in February 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved the Regulation "On awarding talented graduates of secondary educational institutions and academic lyceums with gold and silver medals."
According to the document, the gold medal is awarded to the graduates of the 11th grade, who have a certificate with honors at the end of the 9th grade, "excellent" marks in all final tests, as well as at the end of quarters and academic years in all subjects for grades 10-11, approximately behavior and active participation in public life. The silver medal is awarded to 11th grade graduates who have a 9th grade honors certificate, excellent marks in all subjects for grades 10-11, exemplary behavior and active participation in public life.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, 9,821 graduates of secondary schools were awarded medals, 7,183 of which received gold medals and 2,638 - silver medals.
It should be noted that at the end of the academic year, 2,810 11th grade graduates became university students ahead of schedule.
In the 2020-2021 academic year 437,761 young people graduated from secondary schools.
