Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A Government Resolution “On additional measures to finance the harvest of raw cotton in 2021” was adopted.
According to the Resolution, civil law contracts will be concluded for seasonal employment of heads of cotton clusters and farms and harvesting teams, consisting of the unemployed and temporarily unemployed population.
The heads of the combined teams will be reimbursed for the payment of wages in the amount of 2 million soums until the end of the cotton harvest, based on accurate calculations and orders submitted by cotton clusters until 1 December 2021.
In 2021-2023, in Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions, 30 percent of the cost of services for the collection of each ton of raw cotton collected by cotton pickers will be reimbursed at the expense of the republican budget.
Agricultural machinery, components for it and spare parts imported from abroad according to the corresponding list are exempt from customs payments (except for VAT and customs clearance fees) and recycling fees for a period of 3 years, and VAT is allowed up to 270 days from the date of placement under the customs regime "release for free circulation".
According to the Resolution, in order to further attract procurers to picking raw cotton in the following regions, for each kilogram of cotton harvested by hand, at the expense of the republican budget, a surcharge of 230 soums will be paid to the recommended tariff rate:
In Jizzakh, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions;
In all districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan;
In Kasan, Mubarek, Mirishkor, Nishan, Karshi districts, Kasbi district of Kashkadarya region;
In the Kizirik, Bandikhan, Muzrabat and Sherabad districts of Surkhandarya region.
