Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the State Security Service, together with representatives of the regional police department and the customs department, stopped drug trafficking in Samarkand region.

According to the information, a Kia car on its way from Tashkent to Samarkand was stopped at a traffic police post.

During the inspection of the car, 5.9 kg of opium belonging to two residents of Samarkand was found and procedurally seized.

Currently, within the framework of the criminal case initiated against the above-named persons, measures are being taken to establish their criminal ties.
