Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An incident of unauthorized natural gas consumption amounting to 1.3 billion soums has been uncovered at a food service facility in the Tashkent region.

Across Uzbekistan, inspections continue as part of nationwide efforts to detect and prevent illegal use of natural gas. One such inspection was carried out in the Urtachirchik district of Tashkent region, involving specialists from the compliance control unit of Hududgaz Tashkent, the local gas distribution department, and law enforcement authorities.

Specifically, in the Dustlik mahalla, an illegal connection to the gas supply network was discovered at a catering establishment owned by citizen I.T. The gas was being consumed bypassing the official metering system, constituting a direct violation of the law.

An official report was filed, and the volume of illegally consumed gas was calculated in accordance with current regulations. The total damage was estimated at 1.329 billion soums.

All inspection materials have been forwarded to the relevant law enforcement agencies for further action.
