Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A joint operation conducted by the State Security Service and customs authorities uncovered an attempt to distribute a large batch of pharmaceutical products lacking the necessary documentation and certification.
During a search of the home and vehicle of a resident of Bukhara District, born in 1985, authorities discovered 978 packages of medicines across 78 different types, including such drugs as Imudon, Cerebrolysin, Dopamine, and Maalox. All items were seized in accordance with legal procedures.
Investigators established that another individual—a resident of Bukhara city born in 1962—was also involved in the illicit scheme.
According to an assessment by the State Unitary Enterprise “Center for Pharmaceutical Product Safety,” the following violations were identified:
These findings served as grounds to initiate criminal proceedings under paragraph “b,” part 2, article 25.186³ of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are currently underway.
Authorities emphasized that the confiscated medications were likely intended for distribution not only in Bukhara’s pharmacy network but also in the Shafirkan, Peshkun, and Romitan districts—posing a serious risk to public health.
Law enforcement agencies urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to the circulation of pharmaceutical products.
