Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 February, a meeting of the National Commission for the implementation of the fourth stage of the World Human Rights Education Program in the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in the meeting room of the Cabinet of Ministers.
It discussed the issue of ensuring the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 7 February 2023 “On approval of the National Program for Human Rights Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The meeting was attended by members of the National Commission for the implementation of the fourth stage of the World Educational Program in the field of human rights in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Supreme Court and the Prosecutor General's Office, heads of ministries, departments, organizations and institutions, rectors of higher educational institutions, representatives of civil society institutions.
Chairman of the National Commission A. Saidov drew attention to two important documents - the National Program for Human Rights Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Roadmap for its implementation, approved by the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, adopted on 7 February 2023. The necessity of organizing the execution of these documents in a timely manner, in full and efficiently was emphasized.
First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation K. Karimov, Deputy Director of the Agency for Youth Affairs D. Kattakhonova and others spoke on the agenda. The participants spoke about the draft Program for holding the "Human Rights Week" on February 20-28, 2023 as part of the implementation of the relevant resolution of the President, and also expressed their proposals for organizing the Week at a high level.
As a result of the meeting, the Program for the "Human Rights Week" was approved. The program consists of 22 items, including briefings, press conferences and round tables, various competitions and presentations, meetings with experts, expert communication and scientific and practical conferences.
"Human Rights Week" is held by the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights in cooperation with central and local government authorities, government organizations, civil society institutions and international organizations. The events will be held throughout our country - in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, districts and cities.
