Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Huawei in Uzbekistan and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at cooperation in the application of innovative technologies in higher education in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On 29 August 2022, Daniel Zhou, President of the Eurasian Region of Huawei, visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The university management held a tour for representatives of Huawei and got acquainted with the activities of the educational institution. During the meeting with the Rector of the University Sadik Safayev, the parties discussed the issues of the current digital transformation in the country, including the field of higher education.
“Huawei has been operating in Uzbekistan for more than 23 years and during this time has established close cooperation with local universities and educational institutions to support young talents and improve digital skills. Today we are pleased to have the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and discuss the possibilities of cooperation with our company. Huawei has extensive experience in introducing advanced technologies and creating smart campuses, which allows university faculty and students to apply digital solutions in the educational process,” said Chen Jiakai, Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan.
As a result of the visit, Huawei in Uzbekistan and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy signed a memorandum of understanding between organizations. The memorandum is aimed at developing bilateral relations in the field of introducing digital technologies into educational processes, holding joint events and exchanging experience to develop the scientific and technical potential of employees and students of the university.
Huawei has been operating in Uzbekistan for over 23 years. Over the years of its activity, the company has established cooperation with the country’s leading universities specializing in IT education. Among them are TUIT, Inha University, Amity University, Turin Polytechnic University, Yeoju Technical Institute. On an annual basis, students of the above-mentioned universities take part in the global educational project Huawei "Seeds for the Future", which in November this year will bring together the talented youth of Uzbekistan for the eighth time.
