Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 January 2022, in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a total of 2,931 vehicles transporting waste (Mahsustrans) serve to ensure cleanliness in the country.
Compared to last year, their number increased by 136 units (18.5%), the press service of the State Statistics Committee reports.
In terms of regions, most of the vehicles transporting waste (Maxsutrans) are operated in Tashkent (475 units or 16.2% of the total), Samarkand (398 units or 13.6%), Tashkent (259 units or 8.8%) and Fergana regions (252 units or 8.6%).
During 2021, this special equipment collected a total of 56.71 million cubic meters of municipal solid waste.
