Houses in Urtachirchik District to Be Demolished for Tashkent Airport Construction
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Residential houses will be demolished in Urtachirchik District to make way for the construction of a new international airport in Tashkent, the district hokimiyat press service reported.
District hokim Ikhtiyor Kosimov met with residents of the Khalkabad mahalla in Yangikhayat settlement and with local farm managers to discuss the project.
The administration clarified that land plots in the Khalkabad and Yangiyul mahallas were allocated for the new airport. “During the meeting, residents and farmers were fully informed about the compensation procedures for houses, buildings, and structures on their land and had all their questions answered,” the statement said.
The new airport will cover areas in Urtachirchik and Kuyichirchik districts, totaling 1,300 hectares.
In early September, the Tashkent Regional Cadastre Agency allocated a total of 1,309.76 hectares across the two districts for the project.
