Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Uzbekistan signed Law, which amended and supplemented some legislative acts.
As a result of reforms in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the classification of individual leadership positions has been changed. In this regard, it became necessary to fix in the legislation the accountability of the heads of the system of internal affairs bodies on the state of prevention and prevention of offenses and on public safety to the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, local Kengashes of people’s deputies.
The law introduced amendments and additions to the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On local government”, “On self-government bodies of citizens”, “On internal affairs bodies” and “On the procedure for serving administrative arrest”, as well as the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
In particular, the quarterly submission of reports by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the heads of the main departments of internal affairs of the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region, the heads of the departments of internal affairs of the regions, their deputies, respectively, to the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, local Kengashes of people’s deputies, is determined.
In addition, additions are being made to the Law “On Internal Affairs Bodies” aimed at determining the legal status and main functions of mahalla law enforcement agencies operating in the system of internal affairs bodies.
Mahalla points of law and order are structural subdivisions of the internal affairs bodies that carry out activities to protect public order, prevent offenses and combat crime directly in the mahallas, as well as to organize the interaction of the internal affairs bodies, other law enforcement agencies and public formations to ensure the safety and tranquility of citizens in the mahallas .
Mahalla points of law and order carry out their activities as part of:
Chief Prevention Inspector, Prevention Inspector, Public Order Assistant (on a daily basis) Prevention Inspector;
an inspector for women’s issues, an inspector of the probation unit, an operational officer, employees of the patrol service of the district (city) internal affairs bodies assigned to serve in the given territory;
employees of the National Guard unit and other authorized state bodies, as well as representatives of public formations sent to assist in the protection of public order and crime prevention.
According to the amendments to the law “On local government”, senior inspectors for the prevention of makhalla law enforcement points every six months submit a report on the state of ensuring public security to the district (city) Kengashes of people’s deputies.
