Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 July 2021, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov.

During the meeting, the state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Russian relations, further strengthening of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as interaction within the framework of international parliamentary structures were discussed.

The parties also noted the importance of ensuring the effective activities of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the interaction of the parliaments of the two countries in ensuring the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level, in trade, economic, investment, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian, as well as the activation of direct interregional ties.

Malginov highly appreciated the results of democratic reforms and transformations carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, ensuring human rights and freedoms, rapid transformations in the socio-economic sphere.
