Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the next plenary session of the Senate, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further strengthening of guarantees of the rights of citizens and business entities" was considered.
The law introduces amendments and additions to the Labor, Civil and Tax Codes, as well as to the laws “On State Pensions for Citizens”, “On the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan”
With the introduction of innovations, the provision of social services to citizens is enhanced.
That is, the Law “On State Pension Provision of Citizens” establishes the assignment of a disability pension to persons with disabilities of groups I and II, as well as persons with disabilities of group III due to injury or illness caused by the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Orphans studying in educational institutions are given the right to receive a survivor’s pension until they reach 23 years of age.
In the context of the emergence of a quarantine situation and the application of restrictive measures on the territory of the country, if citizens are unable to apply for a pension in a timely manner and applied within one month after the cessation of restrictions, they will be granted a pension from the day the right to receive a pension arises.
The total period for calculating the time spent on parental leave in addition to the length of service changes from 3 to 6 years.
According to the amendments to the Civil Code, it is now established that when renting motor vehicles through an electronic online auction, notarization of lease agreements is not required. A rule is introduced that the protocol drawn up based on the results of an electronic online auction has the force of a lease agreement.
The amendment to the Law “On the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan” transfers to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry the authority to confirm force majeure circumstances arising under local economic agreements.
Amendments are being made to the Tax Code, providing for exemption from paying value added tax in the period from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022, the turnover on the import and sale of vegetable oil, beef, lamb and chicken meat, animals (cattle and poultry) into the territory of Uzbekistan live and products of their slaughter, potatoes, frozen fish.
The law was approved by the senators.
