Governor of Tashkent Region Discusses Waste Processing and “Green” Economy Projects with Chinese Company

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Zoyir Mirzaev, Governor of Tashkent Region, met with representatives of the Chinese engineering company Shanxay Taysin, which specializes in waste processing.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and outcomes of bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.

The investors highly appreciated the stable economic environment in the country, the favorable conditions and existing incentives for foreign companies, and proposed implementing a series of projects in Tashkent Region focused on thermal processing of municipal waste, electricity generation from waste incineration, conversion of unusable oils into useful raw materials, wastewater treatment, environmental protection, and the development of a “green” economy.

The governor emphasized that environmental sustainability, improvement of the waste management system, and enhancing the quality of life for the population remain priority areas for the region, and expressed readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation.

He also showed interest in projects related to the processing of secondary water from sewage and industrial sources, construction waste, and unusable oils from restaurants and kitchens into useful products.

Following the meeting, both sides agreed to jointly study the proposed projects, prepare their technical and economic feasibility assessments, and revisit the practical aspects of implementation.
