Governor of Samarkand Region Meets UN-Habitat to Discuss Sustainable Urban Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Governor of Samarkand Region, Adiz Boboev, held a meeting with a UN-Habitat delegation led by urban planning expert Katja Schefer to discuss key issues of sustainable development and urban planning cooperation.

The parties discussed the preparation of a regional master plan and the expansion of collaboration in urbanization, emphasizing a systematic approach to territorial planning, efficient management of urban development processes, and the creation of a modern urban environment.

The dialogue also focused on environmentally friendly construction solutions, infrastructure development, and the exchange of international best practices in city management.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue dialogue and jointly develop priority areas of cooperation aimed at promoting sustainable development in the Samarkand Region and improving the quality of the urban environment.
