Governor of Bukhara Region Orders Demolition of Private Kindergarten Without Permits
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A video circulating widely on social media has sparked controversy, showing Bukhara regional governor Botir Zaripov ordering the demolition of a private kindergarten allegedly operating without the necessary permits.
In the footage, Zaripov instructs a subordinate to immediately demolish all structures lacking legal documentation: "Pull up all the documents related to the kindergarten's land. If they don’t have them — demolish. No court, no excuses. Tear it down today, along with everything inside. Bury it if you must — even with people inside. Enough playing around with courts," he is heard saying.
The governor also voiced harsh criticism of the deputy mayor of Bukhara city, declaring his intention to issue an official reprimand for "losing control of the situation" and exhibiting "excessive complacency."
As of the time of publication, there has been no official response from the Bukhara regional administration. The date and context of the video remain unclear.
