Governments of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan aim to strengthen cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Bishkek, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for deepening the Uzbek-Kyrgyz cooperation were discussed. Mutual readiness was expressed to deepen bilateral relations and implement joint measures to ensure the implementation of existing agreements.

The parties noted the significant potential for further expansion of economic partnership and agreed to organize mutual visits of working groups of ministries and departments in order to agree on new agreements, primarily referring to industrial cooperation projects and trade contracts. In this context, the importance of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund established in 2021 as an effective tool for financing and promoting joint promising projects was noted.

After discussing the key points on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, the meeting participants moved on to negotiations in an expanded format, in which the heads of key ministries and departments of the two states took part. Here, existing issues in the areas of industry, mutual deliveries, transport and transit, customs regulation, education and culture were considered in more detail.

Practical aspects of the implementation of joint projects in the field of hydropower, infrastructure and transport were also considered and agreed upon. Mutually acceptable solutions were developed, and an agreement was reached to intensify joint work to accelerate the implementation of these projects.

Following the meeting, mutual commitment was expressed to close cooperation in all areas of bilateral cooperation in order to promptly resolve all emerging issues.
