Government approves prices for liquefied gas for population
On 29 December 2017, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On phased introduction of a single retail price of liquefied natural gas sold to the population for consumption in the home”.
The presidential decree from 4 September 2017 No. PP-3253 envisages introduction of a single fixed price for the sale of liquefied gas to the population of the republic in exchange for contractual (free) prices, which were applied from 1 October 1994.
A single retail price will be introduced in Uzbekistan in two stages. Uzstrangaz and its territorial branches for gas supply will release liquefied gas for domestic consumption from 1 April 2018 - at a price that varies by region: from 500 to 720 soums per 1 kg including VAT and from 1 August 2018 - to single price: 800 soums per 1 kg including VAT.
