“Golden Visa”: Uzbekistan raises investment threshold for residence permit
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 June 2025, Uzbekistan will introduce a new procedure for issuing residence permits to foreign nationals under its “golden visa” program.
According to a presidential decree published on the Lex.uz portal, the minimum investment required to obtain a residence permit has been set at US$250,000.
For family members of the investor — including parents, spouse, and children — the investment requirement for obtaining a similar permit is set at US$150,000. The residence permit will be issued through an expedited process for a five-year period.
Previously, a statement by the Ministry of Justice dated 19 April mentioned lower thresholds: US$200,000 for the main applicant and US$100,000 for family members. However, that post was amended on 24 April.
It is worth noting that since 2019, Uzbekistan has operated a residence permit program for citizens of 109 countries who purchase real estate worth between US$100,000 and US$400,000, depending on the region.
