GM Uzbekistan produces its 2 millionth car

The 2 millionth car of GM Uzbekistan, which was produced at the plant, was Chevrolet Lacetti.

GM Uzbekistan produced its 500,000th automobile in 2005 and its 1 millionth car in 2008.

On 19 July 1996, Uz-Daewoo Auto (currently GM Uzbekistan) started serial production of Nexia, Damas and Tico automobiles.

Currently GM Uzbekistan works under US brand Chevrolet and produces such cars as Malibu, Captiva, Lacetti, Cobalt, Nexia, Spark, Matiz и Damas.

In 2013, the plant is carrying out projects on modernization of Lacetti MCE, launch of production of Matiz and Nexia of Euro-5 modification, replacement of old equipment and tools.

On 21 February 2008, on the base of Asaka Automobile Plant, new venture GM Uzbekistan was founded. Uzavtosanoat and General Motors founded the venture.
