Global Air Travel Demand Rises 6.6% in October 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data on the global air transport market for October 2025.
According to the report, total passenger demand (RPK) increased by 6.6% compared to October 2024, with international passenger traffic up 8.5%. The load factor reached 84.6%, 0.7 percentage points higher than a year earlier.
Passenger growth was particularly strong in the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East, exceeding 8%. North America saw moderate growth of 2.5% after several months of stagnation. Domestic traffic rose by 3.4%, led by Brazil with a 12.4% increase.
Air cargo demand also grew, with overall volumes up 4.1% and international routes rising 4.8%. The highest increases were in Africa (+16.6%) and Asia (+8.3%), while North and Latin America experienced declines.
IATA Director General Willie Walsh noted that stable air travel demand supports the industry amid economic uncertainty and aids the adaptation of global supply chains ahead of the peak fourth-quarter season.
The rise in air transport is driven by expanding global trade, improved manufacturing sentiment, and heightened corporate activity in preparation for the holiday season.
