“German Medical Academy” Opens in Tashkent to Train Mid-Level Medical Specialists
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new stage of medical personnel training under the Uzbekistan–Germany cooperation initiative has begun in Tashkent with the launch of the “German Medical Academy” at the 1st Republican Public Health College named after Abu Ali Ibn Sina in the Chilanzar district.
The project is implemented with the participation of the Migration Agency, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Aachen Clinic, and the Swiss company Globogate Concept AG.
The academy aims to train highly qualified mid-level medical specialists according to German standards, support their professional development, and create opportunities for internships in foreign clinics.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, 750 student quotas have been allocated. Over three years, students will follow German curricula, receive a diploma recognized in both countries, and obtain a B2-level German language certificate.
Previously, candidates with nursing diplomas underwent retraining in Germany, spending six to eight months on adaptation. Now this process takes place in Uzbekistan, saving time and creating new opportunities for employment abroad.
The project also allows specialists already working in Germany to accompany family members when relocating, opening new prospects for Uzbek citizens in the high-paying medical sector.
