The Uzbek company said that with a consortium of GOPA International Energy Consultant GmbH, Suntrace GmbH and Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) (Germany) won a tender for provision of consulting services to implement the project “Construction of solar photovoltaic station with capacity 100 MW in Samarkand Region”.
Uzbekenergo and the consortium signed the contract within the project. The sum of the contract was not disclosed.
The project envisages construction of generating capacities for 100 megawatts with production of 200 million KWH of electricity a year. The project is expected to run for about five years with an estimated completion date of March 2019.
The project cost is US$310 million. It will be financed due to loan of the Asian Development Bank for US$110 million, as well as resources of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and Uzbekenergo.
