Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to build up cooperation ties and trade and investment cooperation with leading foreign partners of the textile and garment and knitwear industry (in particular, with German), the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Berlin together with the German company BVMW, with the assistance of Association "Uztekstilprom" organized an online conference entitled "Trade and Investment in Uzbekistan - the new beneficiary of GSP +", with the participation of the leading German business circles in the field of the textile industry and representatives of the textile industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
BVMW is a politically independent association that serves all commercial industries and professions, and also represents the interests of small and medium-sized businesses in politics, administration, trade unions and large companies. Medium-sized enterprises - about 3.3 million individual enterprises in total - are the backbone and driving force of the German economy.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany N.Kosimov, chairman of the Uztextilprom Association I. Khaydarov and executive director of the Confederation of the knitwear industry of Germany S.Jungbauer took part in the conference as a VIP speaker.
Speaking with a welcoming speech, S. Jungbauer highly appreciated the reforms in the country and the overestimated interests of German companies in cooperation with textile companies in Uzbekistan. In this regard, the process of preparation for the visit of the delegation of German clothing brands and textile companies to Uzbekistan, which is scheduled for October-November of this year, has begun.
During his speech, I. Khaydarov presented to the attention of the conference participants a presentation on the potential, achievements and prospects of the textile industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan today, as well as the possibilities of deepening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU countries, in particular with Germany, in the textile industry.
In addition, representatives of the textile companies Bukhara Cotton Textile LLC, Adim Group LLC, and Uztex Group LLC took an active part in the conference. During their speeches, company representatives presented materials on the potentials and capabilities of their companies. There was also an exchange of views and interests between representatives of the business community of the parties involved.
Following the conference, the parties agreed to support mutual visits of the parties for a detailed discussion of issues of bilateral cooperation.
