Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 June 2021, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Uzbekistan with his residence in Moscow, Eitvydas Bajarūnas.

During the conversation, the state and prospects of Uzbek-Lithuanian relations in the political, trade and economic, investment, tourism, cultural, humanitarian, educational, transport and logistics and other spheres were discussed.

The schedule of upcoming official contacts at various levels was considered.

Special attention was paid to certain aspects of interaction within the framework of regional and international structures.

Mutual interest in actively promoting economic diplomacy was confirmed. The need was noted for expanding cooperation between chambers of commerce and industry, representatives of business circles, and organizing joint events in this area.

They also exchanged views on strengthening ties between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Lithuania.
