Gas Station Fire in Surkhandarya Leaves Two Injured
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 April at 08:24, the “112” emergency service of Surkhandarya Region received a report of a fire at a gas refueling station located in the “Oktom” neighborhood of Denov District. Preliminary data indicate that the ignition occurred during the refueling of a specialized KAMAZ vehicle’s liquefied propane gas tank.
Five rescue units arrived at the scene and had the fire contained by 08:42. Work to fully extinguish the blaze is ongoing.
Preliminary information suggests the incident was caused by a tank leak due to a violation of the technological process during gas transfer.
Officials from the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Denov District internal affairs department, security services, as well as the management and specialists from Hududgazta’minot are working on-site. A thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.
The situation is fully under control of the relevant services.
As a result of the incident, two people sustained minor burns: one with injuries covering approximately 10% of the body surface, the other 3–4%.
Both victims are in stable condition, and their lives are not in danger. No fatalities have been reported.
