Gambling activities to be allowed in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The government of Uzbekistan has approved a decree aimed at implementing the presidential order "On Measures to Improve the Regulation of Lotteries and Gambling Activities."
As part of the new regulation, a unified state registry of bets and games will be established. This registry will include data on players, restrictions, spending limits for gambling activities, and information on financial transactions.
To obtain a license for operating a bookmaker business, an organization must have a charter capital of at least 150,000 sizes of basic estimated value (equivalent to 56.25 billion soums as of the time of publication). For organizations involved in lotteries, the charter capital must be at least 55,000 sizes of basic estimated value (20.625 billion soums).
A fee of 500 sizes of basic estimated value (187.5 million soums) will be charged when applying for a bookmaker’s license. If the license is amended, a fee equal to 50% of its original cost will be applied. Additionally, lottery organizers are required to pay 0.1% of the game volume into the account of the licensing authority.
These changes will take effect once the relevant amendments are made to the law "On Licensing, Permits, and Notifications" regarding bookmaker activities.
