Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 November 2022, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Uzbekistan Jonathan David Hannick.

The current state and prospects for further development of the Uzbek-American relations of strategic partnership were considered.

The readiness of the parties to continue an active and constructive political dialogue was noted.

The organizational and content aspects of the planned events were discussed, including the next meeting of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue between Uzbekistan and the United States.

Proposals for building up ties in the areas of trade, investment, innovation, agriculture, energy and others were considered.

The Ambassador informed about the commitment of the US Administration to continue providing financial and technical assistance to Uzbekistan and all possible assistance in the fight against the pandemic.

Special attention was paid to the issues of regional cooperation, in particular, within the framework of the C5 + 1 Dialogue Format.

An exchange of views took place on the situation in Afghanistan. The efforts of Uzbekistan to provide assistance to the Afghan people and the implementation of infrastructure projects in the neighboring country were highly appreciated.

The meeting was also attended by Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Uzbekistan Michela Meredith.
