Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 October 2022, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Maldives Imran Abdullah, who is visiting our country.
The current state and prospects for further development of the Uzbek-Maldives cooperation in various directions were discussed. In particular, it was noted that there are opportunities for enhancing ties in the areas of trade, investment and tourism, especially “ziyorat tourism”.
High appreciation was given to the modern progress of Uzbekistan, the results achieved in the country in building a strong civil society, improving the welfare of the population and liberalizing the economy.
The Maldivian side announced its intention to substantively study the experience of Uzbekistan in the field of law enforcement, protection of the rights and freedoms of compatriots abroad, as well as the return of its citizens from conflict zones, their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
An agreement was reached on taking effective measures to build up contacts in all areas of the bilateral agenda.
