From 1 November, the use of tokens in the Tashkent Metro to be suspended

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- To date, in the city of Tashkent, work is being carried out in stages to fully introduce an automated system of payment for fares in public transport, buses and metro. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport.

As part of the implementation of the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 25 November "On the introduction of an automated system of payment for the carriage of passengers by public transport" in public transport, buses and metro of the city of Tashkent, starting from 3 January 2020, a single transport payment card has been introduced for travel.

Currently, all stations on all lines of the Tashkent metro are equipped with stationary validators that allow you to pay for travel through unified transport cards and NFC bank cards.

At the same time, more than 1000 units of buses of JSC "Toshshahartranskhizmat" serving passengers in the capital are fully equipped with mobile and stationary validators that allow making payments with electronic cards.

In order to expand the volume of payments by passengers on a single transport card, accelerate the full operation of the automated system, as well as eliminate cash in public transport, at the next stage, from 1 November 2020, the use of tokens in the Tashkent metro will be suspended.
