“Friendship of Peoples” badge established in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan with its resolution established the “Friendship of Peoples” badge.

According to the resolution, the badge is awarded to employees of local and foreign government agencies, non-profit organizations, business entities, representatives of the social sphere and the media, as well as compatriots abroad who have made a worthy contribution to strengthening the atmosphere of friendship and harmony between representatives of all nationalities and peoples living in our country, selflessly working to improve the efficiency of the activities of national cultural centers and organizations.

Documents for awarding a badge are considered in the appropriate order.

Proceeding from this, the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers (Committee) created a commission to consider submissions for awarding a badge.

The Commission annually, before 1 July, adopts a final opinion on the most suitable candidates.

Also, the chairman of the Committee may, on his own initiative, award representatives of foreign partners, embassies of foreign states in Uzbekistan and representative offices of international organizations with a badge for their contribution to strengthening the atmosphere of interethnic friendship and harmony.

The badge is awarded in a solemn atmosphere annually on July 30 - the Day of Friendship of Peoples.

Those who received the badge are paid a one-time monetary remuneration in the amount of 4 basic calculated values (980,000 soums).

One person is awarded a badge once.
