French envoy on climate change visits Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of France on climate change Bérangère Quincy paid a visit to Uzbekistan on 15-19 October 2015 on the eve of the 21st conference of the Climate Change Conference in Paris (COP 21), the French Embassy in Uzbekistan said.

Bérangère Quincy held meetings with the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Uzgidromet, Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management of Uzbekistan, International Fund for Saving Aral, State nature protection committee and Regional Ecological Center of Central Asia.

Quincy met with the Deputy Speaker of Legislative Chamber and chairperson of the committee on ecology and environment of the Legislative Chamber Bori Alihanov and chairperson of the board of Ecoforum Saidrasul Sanginov.

French envoy handed over invitation to the COP 21, addressed by the French President François Hollande and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius to the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

Quincy held lecture “Problems of climate change and COP 21” at French Alliance in Tashkent.
