Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Fraudsters, who intend to illegally transport citizens to the United States, were detained in Samarkand region.
Two citizens, born in 1985 and 1991, living in Samarkand region, promised two residents of the city of Samarkand to organize their departure to the United States, for which they demanded US$30,000 from each.
During an operational event of the State Security Service for Samarkand region and the regional department of internal affairs, they were detained while receiving US$20,000 as an advance.
It was established that they planned to transport citizens who trusted them to the United States along the route "Uzbekistan-Turkey-Bolivia-Colombia-Mexico-USA".
Gullible citizens were explained that before leaving, they should have a certificate of a negative PCR test result and a VISA card with US$4,000, as well as the need to comply with the requirements of the guides in each of these states, in particular, when crossing the river Amazon, flowing through the territory of Colombia and passing through the forests of Mexico.
In addition, during the operation carried out, the detainees were found to have copies of the passports of more than 60 citizens.
At present, a criminal case has been initiated on this fact under the relevant article of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
