Former Karakul Breeding Association Building Sold in Tashkent for 25.56 Billion Soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An online auction for the sale of a two-storey building formerly occupied by the Karakul Breeding Association, located on Shohjahon Street in Tashkent’s Yakkasaray district, concluded on the E-auksion platform on 22 January. The bidding process lasted just 12 minutes.
A single bid was submitted for the property by Sheng Ke-International, which offered 25.56 billion soums, exceeding the starting price by 5 percent.
The building was put up for sale in December 2025 as part of a Cabinet of Ministers resolution on the privatization of premises adopted in March of the same year.
The property is situated near School No. 89 and the Askiya market. Within one year of the sale, the Karakul Breeding Association is expected to relocate to new premises in New Tashkent. Under the terms of the transaction, the new owner is required to use the building for office and service-related activities.
Sheng Ke-International was registered in May 2024 and specializes in construction works. The company is headed by Chinese national Chen Maiquan. Its authorized capital amounts to 27 billion soums.
The company’s main shareholders are a Kazakhstan-based LLP of the same name, holding a 65 percent stake, and Zhongai Guozhan Investment Management (Hong Kong), which owns the remaining 35 percent.
Previously, in December 2024, Sheng Ke-International acquired the property complex of the Askiya market for 225.59 billion soums.
Under the terms of that deal, the company committed to reconstructing the market and developing a modern retail and service complex featuring an eco-bazaar covering 3,000 square meters, a refrigerated warehouse, and a hotel.
Earlier, the company’s management also held negotiations with the New Tashkent project directorate regarding the construction of a residential township, demonstrating experience in urban infrastructure development and the green economy.
