Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Republic of Uzbekistan welcomes the announcement of a two-month truce and ceasefire in Yemen mediated by the UN. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in the statement that the Government of Uzbekistan believes that a temporary moratorium on hostilities, as well as a determination to firmly uphold the rule of law in that country, will create the necessary prerequisites for finding compromises in the name of establishing comprehensive peace and stability in Yemen.

“We call on all warring parties to show restraint and political will to resolve the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy,” the Uzbek Foreign Ministry concluded.
