Foreign Ministry: Uzbekistan is concerned about the ban on the study of girls in universities in Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan expressed concern about the ban on the education of girls in universities in Afghanistan and expressed hope for a review of this decision.

The government of Uzbekistan has received with deep concern the news about the introduction in Afghanistan of a ban on the study of women and girls in public and private higher educational institutions, the Foreign Ministry reports.

“We look forward to reconsidering this decision as a sign of determination to support the aspiration of the Afghan people to build a peaceful and prosperous future,” the message says.
