Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 September, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The parties paid attention to the course of preparation of joint events at the highest and high levels, including in the format of the Commonwealth of Independent States, of which Uzbekistan is currently the chairman, as well as in the SCO under the Russian chairmanship.

The tasks of the foreign ministries of the parties were discussed in the context of the forthcoming 2nd meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan and the 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two countries.
