Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 May 2020, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain Arancha González Laya.
The parties examined a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, paying special attention to the prospects for deepening cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, and also discussed the interaction between Uzbekistan and the EU.
The foreign ministers welcomed the development of Uzbek-Spanish inter-parliamentary relations and the creation of the Uzbekistan-Spain group between the Oliy Majlis and the General Cortes.
The sides noted their readiness to intensify trade, economic and investment cooperation. In this regard, the importance of holding the 1st meeting of the Uzbek-Spanish intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as a business forum with representatives of leading companies and business circles of the two countries after the removal of all quarantine measures was emphasized.
The meeting also examined issues of interaction within the framework of international organizations.
