Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 7 September 2022, on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue "Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf - Central Asia" in Riyadh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud.
It was noted that the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Saudi Arabia on 17-19 August 2022 marked a new era in the history of Uzbek-Saudi relations, clearly demonstrating the commonality of views and aspirations of the two countries.
The parties expressed their readiness for the comprehensive implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, including within the framework of a special Roadmap.
The Foreign Ministers discussed issues of further expansion of mutually beneficial ties in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres, both at the bilateral level and in the format of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf - Central Asia.
The necessity of every possible encouragement of direct contacts between business circles, diversification of the structure of mutual trade, organization of joint exhibitions of industrial goods, and increase of tourist exchanges was emphasized.
In order to expand cultural and humanitarian ties, to familiarize the general Saudi public with the history and modern development of Uzbekistan, an agreement was reached to hold a conference in 2023. Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Riyadh and Jeddah.
