Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- 20 March marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation. On the occasion of this event, the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries, Abdulaziz Kamilov and Sergei Lavrov, exchanged congratulatory messages.
Abdulaziz Kamilov notes that Russia is an important strategic partner and ally of Uzbekistan. Constructive fruitful dialogue has been established between the countries in bilateral and multilateral formats. An atmosphere of mutual trust and respect has been formed.
“In recent years, the scale of cooperation in the parliamentary, trade, economic, transport, agro-industrial, cultural and humanitarian spheres has significantly expanded. Major joint projects and programs are being successfully implemented in priority areas,” the message of the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan says.
Confidence is expressed in the continuation of joint efforts to effectively realize the potential of strategic partnership for the benefit of the two countries and in the interests of region of Central Asia.
In turn, Sergei Lavrov writes that over the past years, Uzbek-Russian relations have risen to a qualitatively new level in terms of the intensity of political contacts, inter-parliamentary and interdepartmental interaction, dialogue in the international arena, inter-regional cooperation.
The full readiness of the Russian side for coordinated work based on the principles of alliance in the spirit of mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests, for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries, stability and sustainable development in Central Asia and throughout the Eurasian space is confirmed.
