Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 October 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held talks in Tehran with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hussein Amir Abdullahiyan.

The parties discussed the current level of bilateral Uzbek-Iranian relations, prospects for trade and economic cooperation in various fields.

During the meeting, the parties focused on the issue of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs.

The parties gave priority to discussing the efforts of Uzbekistan and Iran to resolve the Afghan crisis, key areas of Uzbek-Iranian interaction in the joint implementation of various infrastructure projects in Afghanistan.

The Iranian side expressed its readiness to actively contribute to the establishment of a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
