Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Resolution "On measures to improve the efficiency of the Tashkent Metro" was adopted.
In accordance with the Resolution, the Tashkent Metro Unitary Enterprise was transferred from the Uzbekiston Temir Yollari to the system of the Ministry of Transport, and transformed into the Tashkent Metro State Unitary Enterprise.
The head of the State Unitary Enterprise "Tashkent Metro" is appointed by the Minister of Transport in agreement with the Cabinet of Ministers.
State Unitary Enterprise "Tashkent Metro" until 1 January 2024 is exempted from paying customs duties (except for value added tax and customs duties) when importing goods not produced in the republic and imported according to the corresponding list.
Until 1 July 2022, transport interchanges will operate at 7 metro stations (Beruni, Chorsu, Pakhtakor, Almazar, Turkestan, Kuylyuk bazaar, Chilanzar).
Until 1 October 2022, for passenger transport entering the city of Tashkent, parking lots will be organized at about 6 metro stations (Turkestan, Yunusabad, Chilanzar and the 3rd, 4th and 5th stations of the ground ring line).
From 1 January 2022, a mobile application will be launched containing the following information and services:
- subway routes (data on their construction);
- stops (objects and public transport routes located around them);
- train timetable;
- electronic payment.
Until 1 April2022, passengers on the ground ring metro line will have the opportunity to connect to the free WI-FI system and access the services of mobile operators at underground metro stations.
The resolution also approved a plan of priority measures aimed at ensuring the safety of passenger traffic and train traffic in the Tashkent metro for 2021-2023.
