Fivefold Growth and a New Data Record: Beeline Uzbekistan Analysts on Mobile Internet Trends in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Over the past five years, weekly data consumption on Beeline Uzbekistan network has increased more than 11-fold. Today, 93% of all traffic is transmitted via high-speed 4G networks, and users are increasingly choosing messengers and video services alongside traditional voice calls.

Since 2020, Beeline Uzbekistan analysts have observed a sharp rise in mobile internet usage. This growth has been driven by the rapid development of 4G/LTE networks, the introduction of new digital services, and consistent investment in telecom infrastructure. While in 2020 users downloaded around 2,000 terabytes of data per week, current weekly consumption exceeds 23,600 terabytes — 11.3 times higher than five years ago. The share of 4G traffic has grown from 57.7% in 2020 to 93.4% in 2025.

A historic record was set on July 10, 2025, when Beeline Uzbekistan network transmitted 3.98 million gigabytes of data in a single day. That’s enough to stream over 110 million football matches in 4K or 1.25 billion HD movies — simultaneously. Despite the unprecedented traffic load, the company demonstrated exceptional network reliability.

The highest growth in data usage has been observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, where consumption more than doubled in just two years. This result highlights the effectiveness of Beeline Uzbekistan’s strategy to develop infrastructure across all regions of the country. In Karakalpakstan alone, the number of base stations has increased more than 23-fold over the past five years.

“The explosive growth of mobile internet consumption in Uzbekistan, especially on the 4G network, requires ongoing efforts from the industry — and from us — to expand infrastructure and implement innovations. This large-scale growth is a direct result of our strategy to develop the network not only in Tashkent but also in the most remote regions of the country. We are investing in technologies to ensure that every citizen of Uzbekistan has access to fast, stable, and secure internet — no matter where they live,” said Maksim Yefremov, Chief Commercial Officer of Beeline Uzbekistan.

More and more people in Uzbekistan are using LTE: over the past two years, the share of LTE users has grown from 62.7% to nearly 70%. The most significant user growth since 2023 has been recorded in Bukhara — even surpassing the growth rate in Tashkent. This is the result of large-scale network modernization and active construction of new base stations in the country’s southwest: in Bukhara, the number of base stations has increased more than 10-fold across the region over the last 5 years.

A significant increase is also seen among smartphone users actively consuming mobile internet. The most rapid growth was recorded in Bukhara, Navoi, and Khorezm — regions that have outpaced Tashkent in high-speed internet adoption over the past 2 years. Nevertheless, Tashkent remains the national leader in both LTE usage (95%) and the share of smartphone users (68.64%).
